Plum Cockatoo (Solar)

Plum Cockatoo is a solar nail lacquer that shifts from lime green in the shade to a range of purple in direct and indirect sun, with contrasting red to orange to gold to green shifting iridescent flakes. Plum Cockatoo is part of the Botanica Collection. 

Information About Solar Nail Lacquers

Solar nail lacquers will change colors in sun light. As such, there are a lot of variables that factor into those changes. The transition can depend on the intensity of direct sunlight (just like thermal nail lacquer depend on body temperature). There can be a range of shade changes depending on light intensity levels; the brighter the sun, the more dramatic the transition.

Additionally, the pigments used to the create these effects are delicate and sensitive to extreme temperatures. This is especially true when they are in transit. Leaving these nail lacquers in either very hot or cold conditions for extended periods of time can alter their transition abilities. To increase the longevity of solar nail lacquers transition capabilities, it is recommended to keep them in a cool, dark location with consistent temperatures.

The transition of solar nail lacquers can also be affected by top coats that contain UV absorbers (etocrylene AND benzophenone) which can block sunlight and will diminish the effectiveness of their transition capabilities. For our solar nail lacquers, we recommend using our Solar Shine Top Coat, which has a minimal amount of ingredients that would affect their transition. .

Each bottle contains 12.0 ml of product.  Swatches generally display 2 coats of product with a top coat.

Alchemy Lacquers are all hand blended, in a 5-free base (unless otherwise indicated). This means that the lacquers does not contain formaldehyde, camphor, formaldehyde resins, DBP, or toluene. Each bottle contains two stainless steel agitator beads and a paddle brush.

All Alchemy Lacquers are made in small batches, therefore, there might be slight differences between bottles. We recommend that when your bottle arrives, that you give it a good shake and roll as the contents may settle over time. We try and take the most accurate color pictures possible, but sometimes monitors display differently.
